This painting is inspired by the Aboriginal Dreamtime story of the Ilyarn or Ilyarnayt a rare and attractive plant of the Acacia species growing throughout Central Australia. Bundles of golden yellow flowers are nestled between thick leathery leaves. This plant is particularly favourable for the abundance of edible grubs living in the roots known simply as Ilyarnayt.
