Mary Morton Kemarre
Antarrengeny, Utopia Region
Mary Morton has been a household name in Utopia art for a long time. Her work often exudes sophistication with a stylish composition of dump dots in earth tones and pink hues, and remains extremely affordable.
Mary was involved in the Utopia batik movement which began in the late 1970's and her works in this medium are represented in the Robert Holmes a Court collection.
A charismatic woman living in the northern region of Utopia, Mary is proud of her family's achievements in art. Her daughters Lucky, Audrey, Ruby and Sarah Morton are all professional artists as well and keep a tight family bond through painting.
Mary's paintings usually represent Country (a bird's eye depiction of her land), Apeng (the Kurrajong tree which has medicinal properties), or Amern Altwerr (the wild orange or splitjack).
